It can affect morale, productivity, and efficiency, which can be detrimental to your overall success. As the boss, you are the leader and employees look up to you for example. So it’s not only important to manage business processes—you should also manage employee relations and maintain good ethos in the workplace.

1. Promote cooperation among employees.

You can’t expect your employees to always want to cooperate. Some, if not most, of them will not go out of their way to help out if the task or project is not part of their job description. Therefore, you must cultivate cooperation as part of your work ethos. You need to create a supportive environment that inspires employees to rise up to the challenge and volunteer to accept more responsibilities whenever they have room on their plate.

2. Educate your employees.

Aside from helping them learn, they will also feel more important than being simple cogs in a capitalist machine. You let them know that their growth is important to you. 3. Keep communication lines open.

4. Always be fair.

In resolving conflicts, considering promotions, approving leaves and excusing absences, delegating tasks, etcetera, you should always be a fair judge. Your employees are not there for the bottomline. They are human beings who have relationships and lives outside of work. Plus, they might be truly passionate about what they do. They might really want to help you and your business become successful.
